It may be hard to believe, but it has been over a month since Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast, devastating many communities in its wake and causing billions of dollars in damage. Many residents along the Eastern Seaboard are still cleaning up and repairing their damaged neighborhoods. In addition, many businesses were impacted by Hurricane Sandy, and federally-sponsored loans are being offered to small businesses in particular to help with rebuilding efforts.

West LegalEdcenter will be addressing legal issues that have surfaced as a result of Hurricane Sandy’s devastation by hosting a live webinar titled “Business Interruption Claims Arising Out of Superstorm Sandy.” This webinar, taking place on Dec. 17, 2012 at 12 p.m. EST, will address an array of insurance coverages for business income loss, with a focus on coverage issues that typically arise after catastrophic storms such as Superstorm Sandy. Listeners will get essential information on:

-Loss of business income due to damage to the insured’s own property
-Lost business due to government orders to close mass transit or to evacuate
-Lost business income due to the loss of access to the insured’s property
-Business interruption losses due to power outages or from damage to suppliers’ or customers’ property
-How to evaluate business interruption claims in a devastated post-catastrophe economy

This live webinar will take approximately one hour. If you intend to take a course for CLE credit, please make sure your state is listed in the “Accreditation” section to the upper right of the program description. Sign up for this webinar by visiting the West LegalEdcenter page.
