Thomson Reuters women in technology featured at Grace Hopper event this week
When more than 4,500 female technologists gather this week in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the sold-out annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference, representatives from Thomson Reuters will be there to greet them.
As a platinum sponsor for the event, which is the world’s largest gathering of women in computing, Thomson Reuters is proud to display its strong commitment toward building diversity and supporting women in technology. The conference is put on by the Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase women in the technology field. Thomson Reuters has worked closely with the Institute for the last several years, and is an ABI Visionary Partner, along with Cisco, Google, HP and Microsoft.
The sessions and presenters for the conference tracks are submitted through proposals, then reviewed and selected by volunteer conference planning committees. Hundreds of proposals are submitted each year, competing for a limited number of sessions. Five of the session proposals Thomson Reuters technology staff participated in were selected for this year’s conference:
- Lisa Schlosser, vice president and chief technology officer at Thomson Reuters, will moderate a panel on using volunteer opportunities to advance your career.
- Mona Vernon, senior director of Emerging Technologies at Thomson Reuters, will participate in a panel session about creating an innovative culture from within a corporation.
- Carolanne Kaye, senior director of Technology at Thomson Reuters, will present on a panel discussing Big Data.
- Jane Moran, global chief information officer, will participate in a panel discussing how to negotiate for what you want.
- Anne Losby, senior director of Organizational Effectiveness Technology, and Krista Claude, senior vice president of Technology Knowledge Solutions, will facilitate an interactive session about sponsorship.
