For the seventh consecutive year, Thomson Reuters has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the 2015 World’s Most Ethical Companies.

Each year, the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center for research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance, lists companies for ethical and principled business practices that positively influence an organization’s performance while promoting ethical standards in global business.

The Ethisphere Institute has published the list for nine years. Organizations are selected through in-depth research, a multi-step analysis and scored against five key categories: ethics and compliance program; reputation, leadership and innovation; governance; corporate citizenship and responsibility; and culture of ethics.

“As an enterprise, you could say that ethics is at the center of everything that Thomson Reuters strives for – thriving and open financial markets, the rule of law, prospering and transparent governments, informed individuals and a future made better through scientific discovery,” said Patsy Doerr, global head of Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion for Thomson Reuters. “We are honored to be recognized by the Ethisphere Institute and be listed among the other organizations on this year’s list.”

The World’s Most Ethical Companies list was announced earlier this week at a gala in New York. Honorees — including Thomson Reuters — joined dignitaries at Cipriani in Midtown Manhattan for the event. The evening also featured speakers, including Walter Isaacson, president and CEO of The Aspen Institute; Scott Harrison, founder and CEO of charity:water; and Dr. Joseph M. Salley, president and CEO of Milliken & Company.

The World’s Most Ethical Companies list arrives in conjunction with the seventh annual Global Ethics Summit, which was held March 10-11, in New York. The summit, co-hosted by the Ethisphere Institute and Thomson Reuters, welcomed business leaders, compliance, governance, risk management professionals, and others from around the world to discuss global business ethics and reputation.
