NEW YORK – Thomson Reuters has released Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts, Fourth Edition as part of a joint venture with the New York County Lawyers’ Association.

Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts, Fourth Edition includes 22 new chapters, two new volumes and expanded content across a range of topics that engage the interplay between rules of procedure and substantive law, outline strategies for representation of plaintiff and defendant, and consider ramifications of various actions.

Robert L. Haig, partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in New York, served as editor-in-chief of the publication, which includes the work of 182 expert authors, investing, by his estimates, more than $40 million of billable time developing this treatise.

“We are fortunate to have talented authors from the judiciary and more than 80 of the best firms in New York contribute to this truly comprehensive, seminal work,” he said. Haig has served as the editor-in-chief of the publication, including pocket parts, since 1995.

Among the other features in the new edition:

  • Chapters on insurance, banking, contracts and 50 other commercial subjects
  • Strategies for each step of a case, from investigation through judgment and appeals
  • In-depth text on law and procedure, strategies and client counseling

“The evolution of commercial litigation in New York State courts over the past five years has been remarkable, but like our previous editions, I am confident that this new fourth edition rises to the quality our readers have come to expect,” Haig said.

The book and its authors will be celebrated by the New York County Lawyers’ Association at a special kick-off event hosted by the organization, Oct. 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at its Manhattan offices. To attend, register at nycla.org.
