RHS teachers visit Thomson Reuters

Rosemount High School teachers visit Thomson Reuters in Eagan, MN

While most students are now back in school for the year, a group of local teachers took the opportunity to visit Thomson Reuters last week before their classrooms were filled once again.

A unique partnership between Thomson Reuters and the Rosemount-Eagan-Apple Valley, Minn. School District brought 120 Rosemount High School (RHS) teachers to the Eagan campus so they could learn to help their students succeed once they graduate. With around 90 percent of RHS students on a post-secondary track, the school district wants to connect educators with businesses, like Thomson Reuters, that offer many high-tech and skilled labor jobs, and show them present and future career opportunities their students will find when they leave school.

United States Senator Al Franken spoke to the teachers about the importance of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), in addition to Thomson Reuters business leaders.
