Thomson Reuters named the strongest brand in Acritas’ first Global Alternative Legal Brand Index
Thomson Reuters has been named the top brand in an exciting new index that is the industry’s first to focus on the innovative practices that are enabling legal professionals to more efficiently organize and conduct their work.
Acritas, a leading legal market research company, has published its inaugural Global Alternative Legal Brand Index to reflect the increasing diversity of legal services providers that in-house departments can turn to today. The results are based on the views and opinions of many hundreds of senior legal professionals representing some of the world’s largest companies.
These in-house counsel were asked to name organizations providing legal services, excluding law firms, which first come to mind, along with those they most favored. They were also asked which providers they saw as driving innovation in the market.
Thomson Reuters was cited three times more than the next closest provider for its innovative practices and was named as the most favored provider overall, primarily driven by its use of technology.
While Thomson Reuters earned mentions across multiple areas for its innovation, four areas of business underpinned this recognition: Carswell Legal Solutions, Westlaw, Practical Law and Thomson Reuters Legal Managed Services. These reflect the broader survey findings that clients are adopting technology for accessing legal know-how and organizing work; using flexible resources to handle fluctuating work volumes; and seeking specialized expertise to provide business-ready solutions.
