Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is pleased to announce that its annual Super Lawyers Pro Bono Awards program is now open for nominations. The awards honor legal professionals, students and institutions that have exhibited excellence in offering no-cost legal services to the poor, exploited, vulnerable or disadvantaged.

In 2011, Super Lawyers launched the inaugural Pro Bono Awards, ultimately choosing eight exceptional lawyers, students, firms and schools as recipients of the first-ever prizes. Last year’s recipients provided pro bono legal services in areas ranging from Native American law to the fight against human trafficking.

“At Super Lawyers we consistently tell the stories of lawyers doing incredible work. But even we were taken aback by the number and caliber of nominations we received for last year’s inaugural Super Lawyers Pro Bono Awards. We are delighted to have the opportunity again to highlight the inspirational stories of attorneys making a significant difference with their pro bono efforts.” says Cindy Larson, Super Lawyers publisher.
