Ruth Bader Ginsburg was the top pick, followed by Antonin Scalia, whom one lawyer suggested meeting at Hussong’s Cantina in Baja, Mexico (“after a few beers, we may start agreeing on things). Former justices were also fair game. Sandra Day O’Connor was a popular choice, whom one respondent suggested meeting at California Pizza Kitchen (“founded by lawyers!”). Odd, don’t you think, that not one lawyer chose Oliver Wendell Holmes or John Marshall as a lunch date. As for those who picked Justice Scalia, all I can think of is that there are 15 lawyers who enjoy suffering acid reflux.
