Today at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., “Magna Carta: Muse & Mentor” opened to a large gathering. The opening ceremony was hosted by David Mao, Law Librarian of Congress, with his most distinguished guests and speakers Her Highness The Princess Royal and James Billington, the Librarian of Congress. Remarks were also shared from the most honourable the Marqueses of Lothian; the Very Reverand Philip Buckler, Dean of Lincoln Cathedral where Magna resides in permanence; British Ambassador Peter Westmacott and Robin Griffith-Jones, Master of the Temple, Temple Church. The common theme throughout was while we certainly honor this document, we still need to strive to ensure the rule of law is experienced by all.
