International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is my favorite conference each year. Thousands of law enforcement professionals attend the conference for educational seminars and networking events. The Fraud Prevention & Investigations group at Thomson Reuters has attended this event for 10 years and I have personally attended the last five years. This year the conference was held in San Diego, Calif., making for a beautiful convention location.

As the marketing manager for the CLEAR public records investigative platform, I help develop our plans for what we showcase at IACP.  I’m also a “groupie” among law enforcement folks and each year I hear exciting stories about how they incorporate our products into their important investigations.

I’m continually impressed with the work carried out by our customers who often tell us how they track down outstanding warrants, find missing children, recover stolen property and arrest bank robbers. And at this year’s show, we also promoted our Everyday Heroes campaign that commends the work these brave individuals do each day. You can check out some of those success stories here!

Here’s a quick recap of all of the exciting events I attended while at IACP:

– 5k Run – One of our own, Shelly Bouchard, won the women’s category finishing fourth overall!

– Tradeshow floor – Thanks to all of you who stopped by to take our industry trends survey and see a demo of CLEAR. We will be publishing our survey results in the near future.

– Emerging trends in social media and law enforcement speaker panel – Experts discussed fascinating topics around predictive analytics and law enforcement.

– IACP Award for Excellence in Criminal Investigations Breakfast – This marked Thomson Reuters tenth year sponsoring the award. Thank you to all who attended and congratulations again to this year’s winners!

– Host Chiefs Night – What a fun event! Only the best for the Chiefs – the historic Gaslamp district was shut down for the private street party – how cool.

IACP brought up many enjoyable conversations and insight into the market. Thank you for making the 2012 show a huge success! We’re already looking forward to IACP 2013 in Philadelphia. Hope to see you there!
