Innovation is accelerating
Derwent World Patents Index® (DWPISM), the world’s most trusted and authoritative patent database from Thomson Reuters, recently reached a historic milestone when it registered its 20 millionth invention, demonstrating that the pace of innovation is accelerating.
The 20 millionth invention in DWPI, “MY 140727A,” was filed by a Malaysian oil and marine service company, IEV Group. The latest invention is a testament to the increased coverage and enhancements of Asia-Pacific patents in DWPI, which include:
– Granted patents from Malaysia
– Granted patents from Thailand
– Granted patents and utility models from the Philippines
– Patent applications and granted patents from Vietnam
– Patent applications and utility models from Russia
Created in 1963, DWPI enables patent professionals to easily research and understand the world’s innovations. Used by 36 patent offices and globally by thousands of organizations, it contains 20 million inventions covering 43.5 million individual patents. To better understand patents filed in foreign languages, DWPI offers English-language abstracting and indexing of patents from 44 patent-issuing authorities globally.
