Three cities. One day. One conference. All connected.

In a groundbreaking, cross-continental conference that will take place in three cities on May 1, Thomson Reuters, in conjunction with Electronic Discovery Institute, will host The Consortium on Litigation, Information Law & E-Discovery. This conference will employ Cisco TelePresence technology to seamlessly connect panelists and attendees from the host cities: Chicago, New York and San Jose.

“Employing telepresence technology for this conference allows participants from across the country an opportunity to interact and discuss current topics, emerging trends and best practices from e-discovery to privacy law to litigation,” said Lee Ann Enquist, vice president of Professional Development at Thomson Reuters. “Being able to conduct the conference in three cities simultaneously allows the panelists and attendees to engage in the conversation on a national level without incurring the scheduling and travel demands many conferences require.”

Featured panels that will connect each city and its participants will be:

  • Creating a Breach Response Plan
  • Judges Meet the General Counsel Department
  • Corporate IT Meets Law Meets Information Governance

“Using high-speed, high-resolution video conferencing as the event platform is very exciting,” said Mark Michels, director, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP in the Discovery service line. “Conference attendees will be fully immersed in the high-definition videoconference without the hassle and cost of travel. I believe that this is the future of collaborative learning.”

Barbara Hanahan, EDI’s director of communication, said, “EDI is proud to be a part of this Consortium. We pride ourselves on setting the pace for education on topics at the intersection of law and technology. Nothing is more appropriate for us than using a cutting-edge delivery method to bring subject-matter experts from all over the country to conference attendees, live, without anyone ever having to leave their own home towns.”

Each host city will conduct local-only sessions as well.
