Celebrating 10 Years of Tracker Summit at VANTAGE
The Tracker Summit at VANTAGE 2017 is under way in Orlando, Florida. Legal Current has keynote highlights from the conference, which features insights into Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker best practices, innovations and new capabilities.
We’re happy to share that 2017 marks our 10-year anniversary! The Tracker Summit has grown into a must-attend event for product training, knowledge sharing and best practices around optimizing legal operations since its inaugural conference in 2007.
Ten years later, the Tracker community continues to grow, with more than 260,000 global users in 192 countries. In the past decade, $133B worth of invoices have run through the Tracker system globally.
To continue helping our clients succeed, we’re implementing enhancements such as modernizing the Tracker technology platform to allow for increased product configurability and adding functionality to help clients compare the performance of their legal department to industry benchmarks. To better support Tracker’s growing client and user base, consultants are pivoting from product experts to subject-matter experts – in areas such as legal ops, business intelligence and best practices – and we’re expanding training boot camps from six to 10 regional locations, in addition to our support hours.
Another way we’re helping our clients’ legal operations perform better is by providing industry insights, including the Legal Tracker LDO Index. We also recently launched the Tracker Market Watch survey, which revealed trends including:
- Legal operations are growing, especially among large legal departments.
- The demands on corporate legal departments are increasing.
- Electronic billing is growing internationally.
- There is room for improvement with regard to spend management.
These findings tell us that we need to elevate our level of performance in order to help clients keep up with their increasing demands. We’ll continue listening carefully to and partnering closely with clients – from GCs and in-house counsel to technology administrators and strategic advisers – to ensure that Tracker fulfills its mission of helping legal operations perform better.
