WestlawNext Canada received the prestigious Hugh Lawford Award for Excellence in Legal Publishing from the Canadian Association of Law Libraries (CALL) during its 2016 annual meeting held in Vancouver, British Columbia from May 15-18.

Established in 1998, CALL established the award to acknowledge publishers that provide high-quality materials such as books, services or series in any format from print to electronic to audio-visual, for use in understanding and researching the law. CALL stated the award serves as a means to honor publishers of excellent products and to encourage continued excellence in publishing.

“We are very honoured to have this award bestowed on WestlawNext Canada and the recognition from the Canadian Association of Law Libraries members. It is very meaningful because it is from the people who know our products better than anyone else,” said Rachel Francis, vice president of Legal and Regulatory for Thomson Reuters Canada.

WestlawNext is an online legal research service from Thomson Reuters that provides advanced legal research with authoritative content, market leading authors, lawyer-editor expertise and industry-defining technology. The Hugh Lawford Award is named after the former professor of law at Queens’ University in Kingston, Ontario. He was an expert in Canadian legal information.
