Thomson Reuters sponsors the Law Enforcement Heroes Award, and Craig Yolitz, vice president of Customer Operations at FindLaw, was on hand to present it to two police officers from the Savage (Minnesota) Police Department.

Officers Frank Mackall and Todd Weinzierl were honored for their courageous and selfless action in the line of duty when they risked their lives to help six people escape from a burning building in February of 2011.

Other heroes recognized at this year’s breakfast include a woman who has donated more than 100 gallons of blood and platelets to the Red Cross over several decades and a young Army soldier who lost one of his legs while serving in Afghanistan yet remains focused and determined to overcome any obstacles.

“As a company that employees several thousand people in the Twin Cities area, it’s Thomson Reuters honor to recognize the heroism and service of our local law enforcement personnel, especially that of these two police officers, Frank Mackall and Todd Weinzierl,” says Yolitz. “We’re incredibly grateful for the work they do every day to keep our communities and our families safe.”
