The countdown to ILTACON 2019 is on, and we’re showcasing the six panels Thomson Reuters will be involved at the conference. Today we share a preview of the What’s New in Voice-Based Virtual Assistants for Legal session.

Justin Farmer, Thomson Reuters director of Product Management, along with Serena Wellen and Ragav Jagannathan will share how smart speakers and virtual assistants like Alexa are changing how attorneys interact with technology. They will also discuss the associated privacy and security risks.

Farmer will highlight how Thomson Reuters partnered with customers to help solve their problems around time management and to determine how cognitive computing can help with their professional lives. Also, he’ll discuss how Thomson Reuters collaborated with Amazon on the Alexa platform to build a skill and determine how to work with this new technology.

He’ll also talk about how Thomson Reuters built prototypes internally and allowed customers to work with the technology. In addition, he’ll address security concerns around multi-factor authentication (MFA) as well as encryption.

Join Thomson Reuters on Tuesday, Aug. 20 to learn more about the latest in voice-based virtual assistants in the legal space.
