It was standing room only in the “What’s New: ProLaw 2014.1 session held during the Elite Vantage Workdwide Conference in New York City last week. Ken Bassham, senior director of Sales for Elite, and Carolyn Smallwood, CLM, chief financial officer of ProLaw client Ezra Brutzkus Gubner (EBG) LLP, highlighted the “latest and greatest” in the most recent ProLaw release.

ProLaw’s new Management Dashboard provides real-time business management information to help firms manage profitability and performance with access to reporting metrics like total Accounts Receivable, total Work in Progress and Top 10 Income Received, and real-time metrics let users measure personal performance and manage their book of business more effectively. ProLaw also has added functionalities for credit card payments, collections, and enhanced back office functionality.

Smallwood offered a “client’s-eye view” of key benefits from this newest version of ProLaw, stating, “The ability to select multiple statements to email from Ledger is really going to help us save time. Dashboard enhancements to add Management and Timekeeper statistics in addition to Calendar, Time Entry, Recent and Reminders in customizable windows are the competitive advantages my firm’s partners needed to help them more effectively manage our firm.”

EBG, located in Woodland Hills, CA, has 26 attorneys who transact business globally and practice in both federal and state courts. A ProLaw veteran since the early 2000s, Smallwood managed EBG’s upgrade to Version 2014.1 this past May.

Smallwood added that she’s constantly reminding the partners to “zoom out” and look at the big picture and emerging trends for the firm’s key performance metrics. “The 2014.1 Dashboard does exactly that, in a way that allows them to be in control of what they see and how the information appears. I knew they’d love it, and they do.”
