The holidays are upon us, and so is the season of giving. It’s in this spirit that Thomson Reuters recently honored several of its employees with the 2013 Community Champion Award for their commitment to offering time and talent to non-profit organizations and causes in their area.

Marilyn Jentzen, co-founder and president of Atlanta-based non-profit InGirls, has been named a Community Champion, earning a $10,000 grant for her organization. InGirls provides young women in the Atlanta-area the support, knowledge and tools they need to stay involved in their education and attend college.

In addition to her leadership with InGirls, Marilyn Jentzen is vice president of Operations Centers Strategy for Global Growth & Operations for Thomson Reuters in Atlanta.

The Community Champion Award recognizes employee community service with grant money to the non-profit organizations they support with their time and talent. This year, 43 organizations were selected to receive grants totaling $100,000. Since 2001, more than $1 million has been donated to non-profits.
