Thomson Reuters has acquired CaseLines, a leading cloud-based court document and evidence management platform. CaseLines is used for virtual court hearings in 25 countries worldwide, enabling governments, judges, courts and legal practitioners to ensure that the essential services of courts and the justice system are available to all, and at all times.

CaseLines allows users to review court documents seamlessly from anywhere in the world before and during court hearings, ensuring that the essential services of courts and the justice system continue to serve the public.

The platform has seen a surge in demand for its services since the COVID-19 pandemic struck. It has recently been awarded a multi-year contract for civil, criminal and family courts by the Government of Ontario and conducted a pilot project to improve the effective and efficient operation of the courts in Webb County, Texas.

Lord Justice Fulford, senior presiding judge for England and Wales, stated, “CaseLines has significantly transformed our Criminal Justice system in the UK. Without CaseLines it is very difficult to see how we would have been able to function during the coronavirus difficulties.”
