Super Lawyers patented selction processBeing named to the Super Lawyers list in their respective state is a highly coveted goal for many attorneys. The rigorous, multi-phased selection process combines peer evaluations with third-party research, and each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Now that process receives a distinction that further demonstrates Super Lawyers uniqueness as a third-party rating system – U.S. Patent No. 8,412,564.

“Our listings are a valuable reference for consumers, and this patent acknowledges the innovative and objective approach behind our process to create a credible, impartial and comprehensive listing of outstanding lawyers,” said Julie Gleason, director of research for Super Lawyers.

Super Lawyers lists identify and rate outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The lists are published annually in state or regional editions of Super Lawyers Magazine which are distributed to attorneys in the state or region, as well as ABA-accredited law school libraries. Super Lawyers lists are also published as a special section in many leading city and regional magazines across the country.
