Last month, it was my honor to ride along with several hundred avid cyclists in support of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund at their annual Ride & Run event in Prince George’s County, Md.

The event was held in honor of fallen officers with a goal to raise funds for the creation of a national law enforcement officer’s museum in Washington, D.C.

Riders assembled at National Harbor before sunrise where we began the 55-mile ride, and I had the opportunity to meet other fellow riders, including Lt. Dan Edwards from Bloomfield Township Police Department in Bloomfield Township, Mich. Lt. Edwards and I were the first 55-milers to cross the finish line, and we posed for a photo as I presented a donation on behalf of Thomson Reuters to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.

It was an honor to support such a powerful initiative and with the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police conference last week, the time could not have been better to honor law enforcement.
