The Thomson Reuters Legal headquarters in Eagan, Minn. enjoyed visits last week from famed criminal defense attorney F. Lee Bailey and Thomson Reuters senior strategic analyst Jason Thomas. The two made the trek to Minnesota on separate visits, but both addressed the office’s 7,000 employees, and both were the focus of extensive interviews by Minneapolis and St. Paul media.

Bailey’s visit centered on his new book, Excellence in Cross-Examination, co-authored with Judge Kenneth Fishman and published under the Thomson Reuters imprint. The book discusses important cross-examination skills, a topic on which no other definitive book has been published since the 1903 text The Art of Cross-Examination by Francis L. Wellman. Bailey discussed this topic and shared stories about his long career on WCCO-AM with Chad Hartman and on KFXN-FM with drive-time host Dan Barreiro.

Thomas shared his views on the changing face of technology in a talk titled “The Future is Already Here” at the Thomson Reuters Eagan campus last week. Thomas works on innovation initiatives for the Fraud & Investigations business of Thomson Reuters and discussed the importance of changing technologies and how these changes can and will impact the solutions we offer to legal professionals. He also discussed issues and trends on digital currency and money laundering on-air with John Hines of WCCO-AM Radio.
